  i have been a memeber of Kaiser @ santa clara for a year. Throught out the year for my one year old, I was very impressed with all the different periatricians that treated my son, the amazing phone advises nurses that helped. while i thought it was strange that kaiser booked different pediatricians for different visits i benefited from the wide range of good doctors. until they made doctor purdy my primary pediatrician for my kids. I tolerated him and gave him a chance for few regular well check visits which he did okay. then when my son got sick and I was worried to death, he had stomach ache and breathing problem where and we have been to kaiser 5 times in three week period and nothing was helping. Then I see Dr. Purdy, he tells me to play him some nice music and relax an go to bed. I'm like what kind of music would a six week old baby like and would help him with his breathing when he chokes in the middle of his sleep? is he for real? I am up all night with a crying baby, worried sick, still sore from my c-section and rush to the hospital to get him looked at and that is all he tells me? also, he rushed me through out the visit, never let me finish the sentence, never even heard all the problems my baby had, how many times we called the advice nurse and seen other pediatricians. He smiles and asks me how my other 3 kids are doing and how does it feel to have the forth child, he calls me mrs santos. that scared me even more. This was was second child and not 4th, and my name is not mrs santos? has he even read the medical chart or the reason for visit i filled out and discussed with my nurse before he walked in? I was so irritated when he then got up to leave. I have to raise my voice and say Dr, while i understand you are busy, I am here for a reason. I have 3 symptoms i would like to discuss, he still rushed me and prescribed a medication for my son and left and he said its normal he will be fine ...friday is a busy day at kaiser.... to make it worse, the nurse litterally kicked me out of the room and said friday is a bad day and patients are very upset and are waiting to see Dr purdy I need to leave, she didn't even give me a chance to dress my baby, she said she would help me and took to stroller diaper bag out of the room while my baby was half dressed. I was devestated. if you can stay away from dr. purdy, lots of great choices at kaiser.
